Hindi 1B is designed for students with Novice High proficiency in Hindi. It will help you develop communicative skills in Hindi, refresh your knowledge of Indian cultures, and broaden your linguistic horizons. In Hindi 1B, you will develop: • An ability to communicate at an intermediate low level in real-life situation • An intermediate low proficiency in reading and writing the language to exchange ideas and meet real needs • An ability to comprehend and discuss readings and videos at intermediate low level • A knowledge of significant cultural and historical events • An ability to use technology and research select topics in Hindi You will be introduced to a variety of topics, such as childhood, past experiences, rules and responsibilities, traveling in South Asia, or storytelling. You will learn how to talk about past events and future plans, travel, leisure, and health. At the end of the semester, you will have covered all the most important grammar structures of the Hindi language. By the end of this course, you will reach an Intermediate Low proficiency in Hindi based on the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. Prerequisites: Hindi 1A.
