Intermediate Hindi 100B is designed for students with Intermediate Medium proficiency in Hindi. It will help you deepen your communicative skills in Hindi and your knowledge of Indian cultures and broaden your linguistic horizons. In Hindi 100B, you will develop: • An ability to communicate at an intermediate high level in real-life situation • An intermediate high proficiency in reading and writing the language to exchange ideas and meet real needs • An ability to comprehend and discuss readings and videos at an intermediate high level • A deeper knowledge of significant cultural and historical events • An ability to use technology and research select topics in Hindi You will practice participating in interactions where you will discuss and write about topics such as cultural and social issues, environment, politics, or historical events. You will get introduced to modern Hindi literature through stories by renowned Hindi authors. By the end of this course, you will reach an Intermediate High proficiency in Hindi based on the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines. This course is designed for learners with elementary/intermediate knowledge of Hindi. If you are on upper-intermediate or higher level, you will be transferred to Hindi 101A. Prerequisites: Hindi 100A or written consent of the instructor. The ability to read and write is not an indispensable prerequisite for this course.
