Daniel Owen, a first-year Ph.D. candidate in South & Southeast Asian Studies, won second place in the recent Indonesian language competition hosted by the Indonesian Embassy in Washington D.C. He was runner-up in the category in which participants had to write and recite an original poem. His poem is entitled ‘Berbelok Lalu Maju Terus, atau Maju Dulu Baru Berbelok’.
