Research Interests
Professor Raka Ray holds a joint appointment in Sociology and SSEAS. Her areas of interest include gender and feminist theory, social movements, and relations between dominant and subaltern groups in India. Her current project explores changes in the meanings and relations of servitude in India. Her most recent publication is Fields of Protest: Women? Movements in India.
