Research interests:
I am interested in the evolution of Burmese language over time: how it absorbed English and Indian words during the colonial times; how it incorporates new political and technical terms as the country emerges from decades of dictatorship; and how it copes with the rise of social media.

As a fan of contemporary Burmese poetry, I also like to find ways to convey the cultural-specific expressions and sentiments in the original in English.
