Research interests: I teach Khmer language and have developed extensive Khmer language teaching materials. I have also developed teaching materials for Lao language. My interests include heritage language instruction and distance instruction, and I have designed and taught teacher training workshops on both. In addition to Khmer and Lao, I speak, read and write Thai and Northern Khmer (a dialect spoken by the Khmer ethnic minority in Thailand). I’ve published articles on Khmer peasant refugee culture, and done research and presented on Thai sex worker subculture.
