Kashi Gomez is in the final stages of writing her dissertation, “Ghanaśyāma and his Co-wives: Language, Gender, and Identity in Sanskrit Archives from Eighteenth-century Tanjavur.” This project examines new conceptions of gender and increased access to Sanskrit for women in early modern South India. Her research interests include Sanskrit intellectual culture, early modern South Asian history, religion, and gender studies.
